The GED (General Educational Development) test enables adults to earn a certificate or diploma that is considered equal to the high school diploma.

The GED is developed by the GED Testing Service of the American Council on Education (ACE). In Mississippi, the State Board for Community and Junior Colleges offers Adult Basic Education services and administers the GED test.

The GED test takes about 7-1/2 hours to complete. It covers writing, reading, social studies, science, and mathematics.
