ACT
The ACT is required or accepted for admission at all Mississippi colleges and universities.
Students in 11th and/or 12th grade take the ACT.
Scores in each section range from 1 to 36. The composite score is the average of the scores in each of the four (4) required sections.
The ACT has 4-5 sections:
English: 75 questions, 45 minutes
Math: 60 questions, 60 minutes (calculators ARE allowed)
Reading: 40 questions, 35 minutes
Science: 40 questions, 35 minutes
Writing (Optional): Essay, 30 minutes
The ACT is offered six (6) times a year in Mississippi:

The test is offered at a number of local testing locations. See a list of test centers.The fee for the ACT (no writing) is $33. The fee for the ACT Plus Writing is $48.
